Second Quarter 2002 Financial Results, Updated Outlook, and Dividend
May 23, 2002… Roper announced earnings for its second quarter ended April 30, 2002 of $0.55 per share (diluted), meeting the Company’s guidance and increasing 25% over the $0.44 reported in the same period in 2001, which included goodwill amortization that is not included in this year’s results. The Company also reported that earnings per share increased 20% sequentially since this year’s first quarter.
Offering of Common Stock
May 23, 2002… Roper announced that it filed today a registration statement for a proposed offering by the Company of up to 5 million shares of its common stock. The underwriters will be granted an option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the shares initially offered to cover over-allotments.
Independent Accountants Retained
May 17, 2002… Roper announced that it has retained the auditing services of PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP. The selection of PricewaterhouseCoopers to replace Arthur Andersen LLP as the Company’s auditor followed a recommendation by the Board of Director’s Audit Committee.
