Our end-market strategy is aligned closely with the goals of our investors: growth and value creation. Markets such as water, energy, healthcare, education and radio frequency identification and security (RFID) meet enduring needs that make them less susceptible than other market sectors to macroeconomic pressures. These end-markets also possess strong secular growth fundamentals that offer clear and multiple growth paths. Within each end-market, we identify niches in which we can establish market-leading applications and then expand the niche through internal growth and disciplined acquisitions. Our participation in water, transportation, education and healthcare, for example, has been augmented by a series of acquisitions during the past five years that focus on radio frequency technology solutions. At Roper we identify an attractive market and then find businesses that meet our well-defined criteria.
